We hope you’re having a fabulous Summer 2025 on Long Island. We also hope inflation isn’t putting too much pressure on your wallet (and if it is, check out our recent article, 12 Great Micro-Vacations on Long Island (updated for 2025) on the Maidenbaum blog).
One great thing about Long Island is its impressive lineup of talented tribute bands that bring the sounds of legendary artists to local parks, beaches, and street festivals all summer long. From faithful renditions of classic rock icons like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, and James Taylor to soulful Motown ensembles and high-energy ‘80s cover bands, these local performers deliver professional-quality shows that rival big-ticket concerts.
Here are some free musical events happening in August featuring these great bands, plus original music from Long Island musical groups.

Concerts at the bandshell are free; all begin at 8 PM. For more info on happenings at the Bandshell this summer, visit: https://www.facebook.com/JonesBeachBandshell
