In Nassau County, residential property tax assessments are conducted by the Department of Assessment, which, in late 2018, began using new computer models to establish new valuations for each of Nassau County’s 386,000 residential properties.
While the County’s revamping of its methodology caused major changes to the assessments of many Nassau County homeowners, no change was made to the right of these homeowners to grieve their assessments.
